A wind advisory remains in effect until at least 3 p.m. Saturday in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys as well as the Santa Monica Mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

Santa Ana winds will bring an increased risk for fast-moving wildfires Friday and into the weekend in Southern California.

We’re starting off the week with below normal temperatures that are finally feeling like fall. The marine layer will be slow to clear and although skies will gradually clear inland, low clouds and fog will linger over some beaches.

Areas of fog develop, a trough of low pressure that’s going to lean towards the south which will bring a cooling a trend to parts of SoCal.

An area of low pressure is brewing in the Pacific and sending high clouds our way today. This system will help bring a cooldown for the weekend end increase the marine layer.

Expect low clouds and fog to continue to spread inland, potentially reaching farther into valley areas with each passing day. We may also see some light precipitation by mid-next week as a low-pressure system moves inland along the West Coast.

A gradual cooling trend is expected, with temperatures falling below average by Sunday. Night and morning coastal low clouds will deepen, spreading farther inland.

Heat alerts have expired but temperatures will remain above normal for the rest of the week for inland locations, up to 12 degrees above average. In contrast, coastal areas will experience normal to slightly below-normal temperatures. 

A dense fog advisory is in effect for the coast. After Monday, the high pressure weakens, and temperatures will start to cool down a bit.
